We specialise in designing and developing creative and meaningful ideas for museums, galleries and cultural heritage.
Simon Leach founded Simon Leach Design in 2012 with 20 years experience as a design consultant working in the museums and heritage sector. The company brings together specialists in exhibition design, interpretation, graphic design, heritage planning, narrative environments, audio-visual and sound design, education and activity planning.
We have a proven track record in design for museums, heritage landmarks and historic sites. We work collaboratively alongside architects, planners, curators, artists, conservators, writers and activity planners to ensure proposals are engaging, appropriate and part of a fully integrated and coordinated experience.
We have a mutual appreciation of a rational and uncluttered design aesthetic that champions clear communication and immersive story-telling.
In the past five years we have designed and consulted on projects across the UK, including permanent galleries and exhibitions for the Ulster Museum Belfast, the National Maritime Museum, the V&A South Kensington and Museum of Childhood, and interpretation and visitor experience design for the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich (part of the Greenwich World Heritage Site), the Grade I listed Medieval ruins of The Archbishop’s Palace Southwell and the Victorian icon Avery Hill Winter Gardens.
