Simon Leach Design conceived, planed and delivered a temporary exhibition in the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College. The interventions are integrated into the historic fabric of the building without impacting on the overall architectural space. Interventions included two window blinds one showing a time line of the project and one depicting a time line of the site from 1694, additionally an animation was created showing the continuous process of conservation that the painted surface has undergone since its completion in 1727. Other pieces included a series of ‘draws’ that contained graphic information on the characters in the ceiling and evidence of the need for conservation. The draws also linked to community a engagement project, containing handling objects, printed cards and a donation box.
